1979 Aston Martin V8 540 Coupe Oscar India

Oscar India (Series 4) Just One of Only Forty-Four Units Produced

2017 Spring Concours Winner (Newport Pagnell 8 Cyl) at AM St Athan, Wales.

As with all traditional Aston Martins, this is a truly a hand built motor vehicle with the sum of 1200 man hours required from start to finish. Oscar India’s were manufactured from 1978 to 1986 and are commonly known as series 4 V8's. When the Oscar India's were introduced they were a more refined and luxurious car than the previous series of cars produced.

Distinguished by the closed bonnet scoop, twin cibie driving lamps, fog lamps under the front bumper, integral front spoiler, burr walnut dash and door capping’s and the roof lining changed from cloth to leather. The total number of “540 Series” produced totalled only 44 units, making this car one of the rarest V8 Coupes manufactured.

First registered in March 1979 and manufactured in Windsor Red with Magnolia Hide Piped red with red carpets, our car is presented with an excellent historical chassis file with evidence of works carried out on the car totalling in excess of £50,000.00, including the brakes, gearbox replacement, engine rebuild (using original Vantage specification pistons) and new water pump.

Marque specialists Pugsley & Lewis carried out the works only 22,000 miles ago and have maintained the car ever since along with Aston Service London who overhauled the rear axle, braking system and upgraded the Air Conditioning system. Sills replaced in 2001 and are in excellent condition - wax oiled on a regular basis (dry low mileage use since completed). In May 2017, the underside was scraped and re-under sealed.

This magnificent low mileage (80,303m) and concours winning V8 Oscar India presented by Sports Classics London is probably one of the finest V8 Coupe’s (Oscar India) available for sale anywhere; a truly stunning example ready to be used and enjoyed with fantastic opportunities for classic tours and other concours events.

This appreciating classic offers excellent value for money with this model now considered to be the next collectable Aston
